Policies and Procedures: Hornby Recreation 2020/2021
Hornby Recreation programming will take place outside and under shade tents in various locations on island. We will also utilize our access to the school field and school grounds. Staff and children will not be able to access the school building. There is a porta-potty located behind the Community Hall we can access if needed and washrooms at Joe King Ball park if needed.

All parents will be asked to sign a form stating that they are in agreement with the program procedures.
  1. Assessment and symptoms displayed during program
  2. All parents will be asked to assess their children daily before sending them to summer programs to ensure they do not come to program if they are sick or showing symptoms.
  3. Upon arrival to the program parents will need to answer screening questions, if any questions are answered negatively the child will not be able to attend program. (Please see Appendix A)
  4. If a child exhibits symptoms during a program, their caregivers will be asked to pick them up immediately. Children who have symptoms will be provided with disposable mask and brought to designated area until they can be picked up. Staff will if possible, maintain a distance of 2 meters from the sick child and wear a disposable mask. The area will be disinfected by staff once the child has left.
