Permanent Part-Time Recreation Coordinator
HIRRA Recreation Committee provides recreation programs year-round to promote a healthy active lifestyle for all of the Hornby community!
Position starts January 1, 2026 with a starting wage of $25/hr
Hours are self-managed and flexible, as needed to deliver successful programs. Currently, the hours are concentrated in the summer.
Approx. 28 hrs/week May through August inclusive
and 11 hrs/week though the rest of the year.
After completing a probation period of 3 months, employee will be eligible for sick time, regular and statutory holiday pay and RRSP program.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be self motivated with good communication and people skills, administration, financial and organizational skills, and an enthusiasm for all aspects of community recreation.

- Organizing and promoting both year-round and summer recreation programs events to maximize participation.
- Hiring instructors.
- Hiring and supervising a summer student aid.
- Administrative duties, financial tracking, budgeting and grant writing.
